GENERATIVE ENGINE OPTIMIZATION

Start GEO by seeing
how AI understands your brand.

Does AI mention your brand, describe your product accurately and cite relevant pages? Start with real answers, then decide which content to improve and which situations to test.

Knowing your brand and recommending it are different.

RECOGNITION

Brand understanding

Enter a domain to see how models describe the brand, product and competitors. This can reveal factual errors, but does not show whether AI would recommend you without being prompted with your brand.

DISCOVERY

Discovery without naming your brand

Ask buying or usage questions without naming your brand and compare the models’ actual answers. Keep the original questions and test conditions to see whether your brand appears.

EVIDENCE

Check cited sources

Provider-returned citations are shown separately from ordinary links in the answer. Open the pages to check whether they support the claims. When no source is returned, that is stated clearly.

The same question can get different answers through different test methods.

The homepage calls real model APIs. Connect your own OpenRouter key; model usage is billed to your OpenRouter account. Search features, sign-in state, region and settings may differ in consumer websites and apps. An API answer reflects that call’s conditions. Use human testing to check a specific user experience.

Keep a record of what changed and what you observed.

  1. Agree on questions and test conditions

Choose the target market and customer needs first. Save the original questions, model or platform, search mode and time. Compare branded and unbranded questions separately.

  2. Check answers and sources

Check brand mentions, factual accuracy, sources and unanswered customer questions. Keep the original text and distinguish failed tests from absent mentions and inconclusive results.

  3. Improve pages and articles

Use the findings to decide which pages to update, facts to add and sites to publish on. Publish after review and record each change.

  4. Retest with the same questions and conditions

Compare answers to the same questions under comparable conditions. Note model or platform changes separately so they are not mistaken for the effects of content improvements.

Common questions

Will GEO replace SEO?

They share content and technical foundations, but measure different outcomes. Google’s generative search is connected to its search systems; other AI products need to be assessed individually. Read the SEO vs GEO guide.

Do you cover every AI platform?

The homepage lists models supported by the current provider and this instance. Human tests depend on platform, region, account and device availability, which we confirm first. Not every platform is available.

What does one test with no brand mention tell us?

It only shows that the brand was absent from that answer under those conditions. Broader question coverage, repeat tests and checks for failed runs help build a more reliable picture.
